9/2-9/6

Dear Parents,

Enjoy the shorter week, as I know you will! I hope everyone has a restful holiday. I have been so impressed with how prepared all the students seem in class. It's time for a well-earned break ;)

Important info:

Math:
Math is going to get a bit more complicated this week, but I have full confidence the students will catch on fast. Renaming, (I learned it in my childhood as regrouping,) can be a trickier concept to grasp, but we will practice a lot and slow down a bit if needed. It might be helpful to have place value discs and Base-10 blocks on hand if you don't already.

Reading:
From here on out, the OPG lessons will require two days of instruction. The last few weeks have been mostly review from last year.

Geography:
Just a friendly reminder that students will take their Continents and Oceans assessment on Wednesday. I am so excited for them to get to show off what I know they already know!
