Fortis Academy Second Grade - 3/1-3/5

History Journals Due 3/1-Please bring to class.
Please bring "Knights of the Round Table" to class!

For this book, we are going to practice retention.  This is a skill that the students will use going forward in higher grades so I wanted to expose them to it.  For the most part, we will read this book at school (chapter 1 is very long so we are splitting that up) and the students will answer questions at home that you will find in the reading section of their campus binder.  I've intentionally kept the at-home assignments short because the students should complete the questions on their own.  There is no other reading assigned because many may have to go back and re-read the chapter (or at least specific pages, as I've put page references on where to look for the answer) in order to complete the questions.  All questions should be answered in complete sentences.  If this exercise doesn't take 30 minutes, please have them supplement with other classical reading material.  Please keep all questions in the binder as I'll be collecting them at the end of the book.

Please check Alma for any missing work and turn in by Wednesday 3/3.

Fortis Academy Second Grade - 2/8-2/12

This week we will have a Valentine's Exchange on Wednesday afternoon.  Please send in Valentine's for each member of the class (I sent out a list of names or Alma has a complete list of classmates).  I will have bags for them to decorate in class.

History-For History this week, we will be doing something a little different.  Students will read a  chapter from the history book and then they will choose 3 questions (from the list sent home in their returned work on Monday) to answer.  This is a separate worksheet and will not be done in the journal, but will instead be turned in on February 17.  I have taken Tuesday's normal reading assignment for History off in case you want to split this task up into two days because it is a little heavier in writing than normal.  All questions should be answered in 1-2 complete sentences, be well thought out, and have correct spelling and grammar.
