3/18-3/22

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your child had a wonderful spring break! I hope that the time off was restful and relaxing and gave you the rest you most likely needed as a hard-working co-teacher.

This week, we are studying our new classroom virtue, humility. We're also starting our next classical read, St. George and the Dragon which explores an important theme of overcoming adversity. I am really looking forward to the week ahead, and hope that these next two months don't fly by too fast!

Have a great homeschool week,

Mrs. Poncy

Important info:

Reading: Please take time this week to fill out a phonogram assessment for your child that will be sent home in binders. Please don't stress about it, it's not for a grade. It will help me know how I can support them further in the classroom. Please return by Monday, March 25th. Also, your child will need their St. George and the Dragon book on class days.

Math: Please continue to review addition/subtraction facts as well as the multiplication facts we have learned so far in 2nd grade. Here are a couple of links to addition and subtraction flashcards if you need them. They should be able to do these very quickly!

Memory Work: For the next quarter 4 poetry assessment, students may sing, "Holy, Holy, Holy" OR simply recite the hymn orally, whichever they prefer. We do both in class. Also, the next map is due in two weeks on 3/27!
