5/4-5/8

Dear Parents,

It's hard to believe that the year has gone by so fast and is coming to a close! The staff at Fortis have decided that we would love to have a drive-by parade at the school the last day to allow more closure to the school year. This will give students an opportunity to receive their rock ceremony award (which will take place online Wednesday morning the last day) and any graded papers or materials they left in the classroom. Most importantly, for us to say good-bye to each other even if it's through social distancing.

Here are the details!
Where: Fortis Academy
Date:  Wednesday, May 13th (Last Day of School)

Time:  Drive through anytime from 4:00-5:00pm

I'm going to cherish the last remaining days I have online with your child.

In Christ,

Mrs. Poncy

Memory Work
Although memory work will not be graded this quarter, please contact me if your child would like to recite their quarter 4 hymn OR their Westminster Catechism to me. I understand many of you may not have had the bandwidth to keep all the balls juggled in the air due to the pandemic, so no judgement if not.

8s, 9s, 10s Math Test
Please continue to review x facts, as the above facts will be due on Wednesday. You will give students the assessment. I will ask you to set a timer and put down how long students took to complete the test. If students can do all of the facts under 10 minutes, (and a good accuracy rate) they will receive a 3. If students finish all the facts under 6 minutes and miss no more than 2 problems, they will receive a 4. A test, grading key, and answer key will be included. I often tell students that if they are taking longer than 10 minutes and counting on fingers or having to draw pictures to complete facts, they need more practice memorizing their facts.
