2/24-2/28

Dear Parents,

I was so impressed last week with how well the students are doing in the memorization of their multiplication facts! Knowing these facts will be the balm to the harder challenge of long division next year. The students have been enjoying our money unit. I love seeing how excited they get to count their pretend coins and cash!

This week we have a big assessment day on Wednesday (Catechism #36-50 and Quarter 3 poem) and don't forget it is also Pizza and Spirit day! It should be a great week!

Blessings in Christ,

Mrs. Poncy

Important info:

Science: This week the science quiz will focus on Jupiter's role in protecting our earth, the features of Jupiter, (large, gaseous) as well as the Great Red Spot.

Jupiter Newspaper Activity 9.2: This week, students will create a Jupiter newspaper draft in their journals, and then they will do their final copy at home on card stock that I provide. I will send the card stock home with your child on Wednesday. They will bring their completed Jupiter newspaper back to school on Monday, 2/24, and I will hang it in our classroom. This assignment will be counted as a participation grade.

Reading: We do not have any classical reads assigned this week! However, the next book we will read as a class is St. George and the Dragon.
