We had a great week last week! I was excited to see how engaged the students seemed in reading. Many have asked to borrow books of mine, or talk about the
Boxcar Children in their own conversations. Cultivating an interest and love for reading is huge in second grade.
I am looking forward to another week with your child!

Important info:
Math: We are focusing on math fluency this week with our addition and subtraction facts. Singapore Math 2A and 2B assumes students know their addition and subtraction facts within 10, but we will review this week and in the coming weeks. Browse the Fortis Curricula website to access flash cards, games and number bonds for extra support.
Singapore Math Resources Reading: DRA testing is underway but not finished, yet. I will contact you when I have your child's DRA level. We will finish testing this week.
Mental Math: When Mental Math assignments are assigned at home, focus on just having students circle 5-10 of them to complete. 10-15 mins is all you should spend on Mental Math.
