4/6-4/10

Dear Parents,

It was a great first week learning online! I am learning to be thankful that we get to come together -even if it is by computer!

Next week, we begin telling time. The hardest part I have learned teaching this lesson over the years is making sure they understand and can differentiate between the minute and hour hand.

I will send Monday's plan with attached documents before Monday and the materials needed for the first session. Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,

Mrs. Poncy

Dear Parents,

The kids enjoyed the Wild Zoo Safari so much last week! We also enjoyed learning about Saturn; we were all surprised to learn that Saturday was named after Saturn! I am personally excited about Monday. We will all taste Turkish Delight for the first time!

I hope everyone has a restful, wonderful, spring break!

Blessings,

Mrs. Poncy

Important Info:

Math:
This is a week of review! We will review this week and begin fractions when we return from Spring break.

Reading:
We are going to go back and hit the last two OPG lessons again on Multi-syllable words. We are almost finished with the book, so we have plenty of time to do this. So many new words and pronunciations to practice. When we finish OPG, we will focus more on our remaining classical books.

Field Trip: There will be a 2nd grade field trip on Wednesday, April 15th, at the Mayborn Science Theatre (Planetarium) in Killeen, TX. More details will be emailed, but this will be a great opportunity for the younger kids to be off campus while the older kids take the CTP test. I'm excited to tie our field trip to this year's astronomy unit!
