Fortis 2nd Grade Tues/Thurs 2/26-3/2/23

Hi Families! (Updated 3/2/29 see Reading Assignment Changes --we will do an extra day of OPG Lesson 229)

This is the week we have St. Francis of Assisi Day on Thursday.  We will be doing extra activities for this. If any of you have styrofoam egg cartons that you can send in (we will need 3-6 of them).  Please send them to school on Tuesday.  We will also need brightly colored chalk and a few kid friendly hammers or mallets to pound the chalk into powder to make paint.  These will be returned to you after we use them on Thursday.  Thank you for anything you can donate for this special day.  

Students will also be able to bring a stuffed animal to school on Thursday.  Please make sure that it is a likeness of a real animal (ex. Noah's ark :) ) .  We will be blessing the animals like St. Francis did.  A photo of a family pet will also work or they can bring both and we will bless both :).

Hello Families! Can you believe it's already the middle of February?  We had an interesting science lab on Thursday that the kids enjoyed. I will be posting pics tonight on the private Facebook group. Please look out for those.  Also we have our timeline quiz coming up on Tuesday.  

News: We will be having a special "St. Francis of Assisi" Day in a couple of weeks.  I met with Mrs. Lafferty this afternoon and discussed plans for this day as well as other things for Quarter 4.  We will have special activities for this day. In preparation for that, please have your child practice the St. Francis prayer at home during the next couple of weeks. We do recite this everyday in class but extra practice at home would be great!
