2/11-2/15

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoys the student holiday/teacher in-service on Monday! Thanks for your patience during my absences while I cared for my children who had the flu. I am pleased to report that the substitutes gave excellent feedback regarding behavior while I was gone.

This will be a shorter week, but still a productive one. This week, your child will bring home a moon tracker sheet on Wednesday. This will give them an opportunity for nightly observation, prediction, and to appreciate its beauty.

Happy Valentines Day! I so love all 16 of my second graders.

In Christ,

Mrs. Poncy

Important Info:

Science: Please encourage neatness with the moon tracker sheet! Charting the moon around the same time each evening will lend itself to more accuracy.  If you can't see the moon because its cloudy, you can look up the moon online on the weather channel website! Please have them put their name on it and keep up with the sheet in their binder. I will take a participation grade when it is completed.

Reading: We are going to start our next classical read, Little Pear on 2/18! Please have your child bring this book to class each school day.

Memory Work: Please let me know if you do not have a Southeast Asia map in your child's binder, and I will send one home! Thank you!
