We are back in the swing of things! 💖

This week I am changing how we handle the math fact practice pages that are sent home.  I would like to start giving effort grades for math facts done at home.  So starting this next week, I will be sending home 3 pages of math facts.  I would like the students to write on them and do 3 minute tests at home (I would encourage them to do all the ones that come easily first and then go back if time and finish as many of the "hard" ones). Please help them grade each practice test with a colored pen/pencil.  I am asking that all 3 pages be turned in on Tuesday of the following week.  I will be grading not on how many they missed or got correct, but on whether or not they turned in all 3. I am also looking for all 3 pages graded with the number of problems correct in the upper right hand corner.  Again, please have them correct it using a colored pencil or pen.  This assignment will be for every student including those who get 47 or more correct in class.  Those students who are doing well can just increase the speed at which they are able to finish.  Thank you for your support!  Hi Families!

We had a successful first week back! The kids seemed super excited to see each other and yesterday we said a special prayer at the end of the day based on student requests for family members and pets.  

This week I will be asking each student to recite "The Ingenious Little Old Man" by John Bennett. Please have your child practice this weekend and be ready to recite it in front of the class on Tuesday.

Please remember to tear off and send in the previous week's Stuart Little assignments each Tuesday as well as the red History journals.
