Math- For the remainder of the year we will be touching on a wide variety of topics with plenty of review. Co-teachers, please continue to check and have students correct all work done at home.
Reading-We are starting Christopher Columbus this week. The book will be read at home but discussed at school so having their books will be helpful in our discussions. The students are enjoying reading an adaptation of Robin Hood in class.
Writing- When "copywork" is assigned, this is handwriting practice as well as modeling correct spelling and grammar as well as hiding scripture in our hearts! Please look over and have students re-copy words where letters weren't correctly formed or that had incorrect grammar. "Cursive practice" should be done in cursive.
History- A quick note about the history journal presentations. The students only do this once a semester so please take the extra time to work on their presentation. The students should not be reading from their journal or a card, but instead have prepared 3-4 facts that they can share with the class. This age is entirely capable of preparing, practicing and presenting in this format. It's fine if they have a card with some key words to help them remember, but please practice presenting in front of others at home.
