Memory WorkPoem: How All Things Praise the Lord Due 2/27; 4 x tables Due 1/16

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your child had a wonderful Christmas break! I am so excited to see them this week and to get back into the swing of things! Several people have told me over the last few months that the last part of the school year at Fortis flies by fast! I really hope that's not true, because I enjoy our school days so much.

I'm really excited about the student individual seat sacks I was able to purchase from part of your generous classroom donation! These seat sacks will fasten to the back of each chair and help the students keep up with their own books and belongings a bit better and make for smoother transitions between lessons. Thanks again for your financial generosity!

I look forward to the week ahead!

Blessings in Christ,

Mrs. Poncy

Important Info:

Math: Please have your child memorize the 4x tables if they have not already. You can practice these in creative pockets of time like driving in the car, etc. These will be assessed 1/16.

Memory Work: The South Asia Map is due on 1/30, which will be here before we know it. Please devote 10-15 minutes a day reviewing memory work, and please let me know if you do not have a Quarter 3 poem, "How All Things Praise the Lord."

Cursive Writing: We have almost learned all the cursive letters! Some of your children are already writing fully in cursive. I will start encouraging all students to write fully in cursive once we get through all the letters. I'm so proud of all the work I've been seeing.

Reading: This week we'll start, Knights of the Round Table for our classical read. Please have your child bring this book to class each day since we will be doing a lot of comprehension work with this book during our reading class time. Thanks!
