Dear Parents,

We had a wonderful week last week! I am personally looking forward to seeing you on Monday, 8/27 for Open House at 6:00pm! The kids are SO excited about our upcoming pizza day on Wed, 8/29! It's going to be another awesome week!

This week in history, we are studying the destruction of Herod's temple. It is so important for us to understand the historical facts surrounding the temple's destruction, but the deeper implication, biblically, is that it was the Jews' lack of obedience to God and lack of repentance that required their beloved temple (that they had replaced worship of God with) to be destroyed. I'm looking forward to studying the virtue of obedience with your child!

Important Info:

Math: Please incorporate the review of addition and subtraction facts in your math time during homeschool days. Here are the links to flashcards!

Science/History: This week we are starting a response journal to science and history. Students will write a few sentences in response to what they read at home in science and in history. This gives them an opportunity to connect more deeply to the text. The journal can stay at home, but I will email you if I'd like them to bring it to school! I'll send it home Monday.

Spelling: I will be sending home key cards from the previous AAS levels that are laminated inside your child's binder (Level 1-2) so that you can be practicing these during your spelling time. Parents new to Fortis need these!

Binder Organization: Most work that students do at home can be filed behind the appropriate tab of their binder. Please return work that I have asked for in the communication tab, so I can easily find it. I will also put work that is completed/graded at school in the communication tab so that you can see it and then file.
